The Road Department maintains approximately 972 miles of county-owned roads utilizing a variety of heavy and light equipment. This distance is equivalent to driving from Pine Bluff to Richmond, Virginia or El Paso, Texas.

The Road Department is responsible for repairs on all roads in the county, maintaining the roads in the county, and picking up bulky items that people discard, such as washing machines, old furniture, microwaves, refrigerators, etc.

The fleet of equipment and vehicles include a paving machine, road graders, excavators, road rollers, and several heavy trucks for hauling equipment and materials to and from worksites.
